Highlights: At Shillington, the Mustangs (9-5) tightened things up defensively in the fourth quarter to escape against the Panthers (7-7).

Trailing 36-31 after three, Mifflin held Schuylkill Valley to just one field goal in the final period.

Justin Rodriguez scored eight of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter and fed Javar Colon for a 3-pointer that put the Mustangs up to stay at 38-37.

Mifflin, which has won 6-of-7, went 6-of-7 from the line in the fourth quarter. Rodriguez moved within 32 points of 1,000 for his career.

Brandon Shurr led Schuylkill Valley with 13 points.
