Highlights: At Wyomissing, Ed Early scored a team-high 15 points as the 16th-seeded Spartans (13-10) defeated the 17th-seeded Indians (11-12) in the preliminary round of the District 3-AAA tournament Friday.

Patrick Johnson hit two 3s and had 12 points, as Wyomissing took a 32-19 first half lead and never looked back.

David McCoy had 11 points and four steals for the Spartans, who will face No. 1-seeded Eastern York (22-0), a team they upset in overtime in last year’s semis.
