Highlights: At Boyertown, the seventh-seeded Bears (20-6) surrendered a big lead and suffered a heartbreaking loss to the No. 10 Patriots (18-5).

Boyertown faces a tough road to the PIAA tournament: It must beat Upper Dublin in a playback game at home Saturday and win two more to qualify for states.

The Bears led 20-10 midway through the third quarter Wednesday before Great Valley outscored them 15-3 the rest of the way.

With 10 seconds left in the game and Boyertown leading 23-21, the Patriots got the ball to Sara Beirnes, who made the tying layup with 2.5 seconds remaining. Great Valley stole Boyertown's inbounds pass and hit the winning layup as time expired.

Jess Schlesman's seven points led the Bears.
