Highlights: At Hempfield, Mercedes Copeland drove to the basket and hit a lay-up with two seconds remaining to lead the Red Knights (23-4) over the Wildcats (24-4) to capture third place in District 3-AAAA and a PIAA berth.

Mechanicsburg gained the lead with ten seconds left in the game after scoring a field goal. Deva'Nyar Workman retrieved a pass from Tyeca Reviere and dished it to Copeland, who then penetrated down the lane to give Reading High the lead.

"We played well," said Reading High head coach Richie Williams. "It was a closely called game. Everybody on the team stepped up."

The Red Knights utilized a balanced scoring attack, as eight of the team's 13 players scored.

Copeland led Red Knights' shooters with eight points along with Elizabeth Fisher, who also nabbed eight points. Workman finished with seven points.
