Highlights: Reading High faced a 14-point, halftime deficit and never recovered in a 66-58, District 3-AAAA fifth-place game loss to Carlisle at Milton Hershey Thursday.

The Thundering Herd (14-11) earned the fifth seed heading into the state tournament, while Reading will enter as the sixth.

Baba Waples had 19 points to lead the Red Knights (15-14), who cut the deficit to six late in the third period but got no closer, falling behind by as many as 16 in the fourth.

Up next for the Red Knights is the No. 2 seed from District 12, which will be the runner-up of tonight's Martin Luther King-Roman Catholic championship game.
