Highlights: At West Lawn, Jermaine Jackson scored a game-high 17 points and the Red Knights (20-5) overwhelmed the Cardinals (21-4) with their outstanding defense to record a Berks Conference quarterfinal victory.

Reading High advances to meet Oley Valley in the semifinals Wednesday at 8 at the Sovereign Center.

The Red Knights broke from a 12-12 tie with a 14-point run over the first and second quarters to take command.

The Cards went more than 7 1/2 minutes without a basket and found themselves behind by as many as 14 points midway through the second quarter. They were down 12 at the half and got no closer than 10 the rest of the way.

Reading opened the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run to build a 20-point lead.

Nelson Leon scored 12 points for the Knights and Nelson Diaz came off the bench to contribute eight points and seven rebounds.

Colin Naugle scored 16 and Matt Ashcroft 15 for Central.
