Highlights: At Philadelphia, Schuylkill Valley went scoreless for almost eight minutes in the second half and allowed 18 unanswered points in the PIAA Class AA opener. The Panthers (23-7) led 13-12 after a quarter and were within three points, at 32-29, midway through the third quarter before the Ambassadors (23-3) went on the decisive run. Corielle Yarde scored 11 for Schuylkill Valley. Laneisha Murcheson came off the bench to score 23 and freshman Chilkira Goodman had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
