Highlights: Ty Gibson Jr. had 12 of his career-high 24 points in the first quarter as the Red Knights (6-3) got off to a fast start in beating the Trojans (3-6) in the opening round of the Reading Holiday Tournament.

Reading meets Steel-High (6-0) in the championship game Tuesday night.

Damon Stern had 16 points and Khary Mauras had 13 for Reading.

The Red Knights played without leading scorer Lonnie Walker IV yet still raced to a 14-point lead after one period.

Rich Duvivier, the PAC-10's leading scorer, was limited to four first-half points and 12 overall.
