Highlights: Boyertown won the Pioneer Athletic Conference girls basketball championship with a 38-29 win over Perkiomen Valley at Phoenixville Middle School.

Abby Kapp scored 14 and Allie Marcus 10 for the Bears (24-0) and KT Armstrong led the Vikings (19-5) with 11 points.

Boyertown led by 14 midway through the second quarter, then scored just one field goal in the second half as its lead was cut to three with 1:15 remaining. But the Bears hung on with 13-for-18 free throw shooting in the fourth quarter to capture their first title in four years.
