Highlights: At Lititz, Devon Merritt had 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead the No. 2 Saints, who stifled the No. 5 Crusaders with a strong defensive effort in the District 3-AAA fifth-place game.

Merritt scored 10 points in the third quarter for Berks Catholic (23-5), which will open the PIAA playoffs March 7 vs. the District 1 runner-up, to be determined after Saturday's Gwynedd Mercy-Pope John Paul II matchup.

Brooke Wensel also scored in double figures with 10 points for Berks Catholic, which held Lancaster Catholic’s leading scorer Caroline Scarff, who averages 14 points per game, to just four.

Erin Holt, who averages nine for the Crusaders (22-5), was held scoreless.
