Highlights: Berks Catholic recovered from a 19-point Pope John Paul II run in the second half that cut its lead to one and advanced to the second round of the PIAA Class AAA girls basketball playoffs with a 63-57 win Saturday afternoon at Spring-Ford High School.

Brooke Wensel shot 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final minute to clinch the win for the Saints (24-5) and finished with a game-high 20 points. Mikayla Lea added 15 points and Courtney Wensel 13 for the winners. Gabby Troisi scored 14 for PJP (19-8).

Berks Catholic will face Greencastle-Antrim, a 55-33 winner over Universal Audenried, on Wednesday.
