Highlights: Tyrone Nesby had a game-high 18 points and four blocked shots as Berks Catholic played strong defensively in beating Gov. Mifflin 54-34 in a non-league game at Wolf Gymnasium.

Nesby hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points as the Saints (6-6) raced to leads of 10-2 and 16-4 over the Mustangs (7-5) in the first quarter.

The Mustangs made just 1-of-13 shots in the first quarter and shot 23 percent for the game.

Mifflin pulled within seven at the half and was within five in the third quarter when Berks Catholic pulled away again, ending the period with a 7-0 spurt to push its lead to 36-24.

Bryce Calloway scored 10 for the Saints.

Nesby, Marcus Wilson and Isaac Lutz each had seven rebounds as the Saints enjoyed a 42-31 advantage on the boards.
