Highlights: Alex Nein’s desperation 30-footer at the regulation buzzer sparked Berks Catholic to a 42-39 victory over Easton in the opening game of the Geigle Shootout.

The Saints (12-6) trailed by five with two minutes left in regulation before they got 3-pointers from freshman Luis Garcia and Casey Jack to stay alive, setting the stage for Nein’s miraculous shot.

Tyrone Nesby scored all of Berks Catholic’s points in overtime, and finished with a team-high 12.

The Red Rovers (7-12), who led by as many as six points in the second half, scored just one point in the four-minute overtime.

The win was the ninth straight for the Saints and keeps alive their late-season push for a home game in the upcoming District 3-AAA Tournament.

Jack finished with eight points. Isaac Lutz had six points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Nesby had a game-high 12 rebounds.
