Highlights: Isaac Lutz scored a career-high 24 points but it wasn't enough to save Berks Catholic from elimination as the Saints fell to Elco 63-52 in a District 3-AAA Tournament state-qualifier tonight at Warwick High School.

The ninth-seeded Saints (17-10) played from behind the entire way and were within six points several times in the final quarter but could not make up for a slow start.

The Berks Conference Division II champs and Berks finalist missed qualifying for the PIAA Tournament for the first time in their five seasons.

The fifth-seeded Raiders (21-5) qualified for state play and will play again Thursday in the fifth-place game.

Colton Lawrence scored 13 of his game-high 28 points in the first quarter to help Elco to a 21-16 lead.

The Raiders converted 14-of-18 free throws in the final quarter to maintain their lead.

Tyrone Nesby, who broke out with 30 points in the Saints' district opener, scored seven points in the first quarter but went cold after that and finished with 12 points.
