Highlights: Hempfield held off Gov. Mifflin’s furious fourth-quarter rally to advance to the District 3 Class 6A semifinals.

Mifflin’s Bubba Peters, who scored a game-high 24 points, saw his off-balanced 3-point bid to tie the game glance off the rim with one second left.

Peters scored 14 fourth-quarter points to help the Mustangs (19-6) dig out of a 12-point hole.

Isiah Tisdale’s 3-pointer with 2:32 left cut the Black Knights’ lead to 44-42 and the Mustangs were within 48-46 after Rece Harman’s basket with 53 seconds left.

Hempfield clinched a PIAA Tournament berth.

The Mustangs will need to beat C.D. East Tuesday at Milton Hershey at 8 to secure one of District 3’s six state berths.

Peters scored his 1,000th point two minutes into the game.
