Highlights:
Schuylkill Valley led by one point early in the third quarter but was outscored by 11 the rest of the way during a 62-52, PIAA 4A first-round playoff loss to Greater Johnstown at Richland High School in Johnstown.
The Trojans led 17-9 after one quarter.
With the Panthers trailing by three to start the third, Tyler Worrell hit a 3-pointer to tie it early in the period. Schuylkill Valley, the fifth-place team in District 3, later took a brief, one-point lead before Greater Johnstown, the District 6 champion, took control and finished the third with an eight-point advantage.
Down by 10 in the fourth, Schuylkill Valley (17-11) got within seven with 1:15 left after an Isaac Horne 3-pointer but got no closer.
Cody Mish led the Panthers with 13 points, Worrell had 12 and Horne finished with 11.
Tavis Price scored a game-high 16 points and Darrian Perkins had 13 for the Trojans (16-10), who advance to the second round to face Middletown (21-5), the runner-up in District 3, or Danville Area (18-8), the third-place team from District 4, Wednesday.
