Highlights:
At Sharon Hill, the Red Knights (6-0) survived a poor shooting night and a missed shot at the buzzer to defeated the Knights (3-2).
Academy Park's Anthony King grabbed the rebound of a missed free throw with eight seconds remaining and dribbled the length of the floor but saw his short runner trickle off the rim just before the final buzzer.
Nelson Leon scored a team-high 15 points for the Red Knights and helped them dig out of a seven-point halftime deficit. Leon scored six points during a 10-0 opening run in the third quarter that put Reading High ahead 35-32.
The Red Knights built their lead to seven with just over three minutes remaining before Academy Park whittled it back down, pulling within 53-52 on King's 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining.
Jordan Merriweather missed a pair of free throws with eight seconds left, setting up the final sequence.
Jermaine Jackson finished with nine points for Reading.
King scored a game-high 21 and Devon Cain had 13 for Academy Park.
Reading made just 12-of-28 free throws.
