Highlights: Wilson played near flawless basketball in building a big first-half lead and went on to defeat Hempfield 55-37 in the Hempfield Holiday Classic championship game at Landisville.

Tournament MVP Stevie Mitchell led the Bulldogs (8-0) with a game-high 20 points, 14 in the second half.

Wilson was up 12 points before Mitchell scored midway through the second quarter.

The Bulldogs held Hempfield to just one basket in the first quarter in building a 12-2 lead. They were up 24-11 at the half.

Hempfield's Eli Washington scored 16 points and was named to the all-tournament team, along with Wilson's Evin Timochenko and Bryce Calloway.

The Black Knights (7-2) had won won three straight.

Wilson entered the night ranked No. 1 in the District 3 Class 6A power ratings; Hempfield was No. 4.
