Highlights: Jake Timby hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 3.6 seconds left and La Salle College defeated Reading High in a PIAA Class 6A Tournament opener today at Mifflin Intermediate.

The Red Knights (20-8) led most of the way before the Explorers (24-3) got hot from outside, hitting three 3-pointers over the final 4 1/2 minutes.

Wesley Butler gave Reading the lead at 39-38 on a 3 with 1:55 left, and tied it with another 3 with 35 seconds left.

La Salle held for the last shot and got it, from Timby.

Reading was then assessed a technical for calling a sixth timeout, and the Explorers put it away at the foul line.

Daniel Colter scored 19 points to lead Reading; Butler had nine points, six rebounds and five assists.
