Highlights: At Gov. Mifflin Intermediate, junior center Alex Swavely scored a game-high 19 points on 9-for-11 shooting as the District 3, No. 2 Cardinals (16-12) simply executed better than the District 1, No. 2 Lions (22-6).

Zach Fenstermacher had 13 points, Cameron Furman had 12 points, four rebounds and three assists and David Rodriguez came off the bench for nine points and four assists for Central.

The Cardinals, who face either Biship Carroll or Conemaugh Township in a second-round game Tuesday , used a spread offense and repeated backdoor cuts to get layup after layup.

Harold Spears and Isaiah Gerhart scored 13 apiece for Faith Christian.
