Highlights: One year after being denied a long-awaited appearance, Wilson has made it back to the District 3 championship game, beating Cedar Crest 49-39 in a Class 6A semifinal Tuesday at West Lawn.

Stevie Mitchell scored five of his game-high 22 points in the final 40 seconds to help the top-seeded Bulldogs (26-1) extend their lead after the fourth-seeded Falcons had pulled within two points early in the fourth quarter.

Wilson led by 16 points entering the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs will face No. 3 Reading High, a 65-64 winner over No. 2 Central York, in the championship game Saturday at 12:30 at Giant Center.

The Bulldogs missed eight of their first nine free throws in the fourth quarter, allowing Cedar Crest back in the game.

The Bulldogs forced three turnovers, two on Mitchell steals, to keep the Falcons at bay in the final minutes. Cedar Crest (23-4) didn't score a basket over the final two minutes.

Mykel Huffman had nine points and Evin Timochenko eight points and eight rebounds for Wilson.
