Highlights: Saturday at Archbishop Ryan, Ryanne Allen scored 18 points and Kaitlyn Orihel 16 as the Vikings (20-7) defeated the Saints (17-12) in a PIAA Class 5A first-round game. The Vikings built an eight-point lead after the first quarter and continued to expand it. They led by 18 at halftime and 31 after the third quarter. Jackie Kirwan led the District 3 seventh-place Saints with nine. Zariya Holt, Sarah Painton and Caroline Reedy each had six. The District 12 champion Vikings advance to face District 3 runner-up Twin Valley, a 51-42 winner over Radnor, in the second round Wednesday at a site and time to be announced.
