At Hamburg, Tyler Seidel hit a leadoff triple in the bottom of the sixth and scored the only run on a balk as the Hawks (1-0, 2-0) beat the Tigers (0-1, 0-2). Winning pitcher Joey Cominsky struck out eight on a four-hitter, and worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the fifth. Losing pitcher Clay Weidemoyer struck out six and allowed just three hits in a complete game.
