Highlights: At State College, Tyler Palmer hit five 3-pointers for a team-high 15 points and Sewickley Academy held Central Catholic to its lowest point total of the season in beating the Cardinals 43-35 for the PIAA Class A boys basketball championship Friday afternoon at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center.

The Cardinals (30-2) were hampered by an off by scoring leader Marcus Dawkins, who finished with just five points and fouled out with 7:38 remaining.

Sophomore Marquis Marshall scored a team-15 points for Central Catholic.

Sewickley star Tom Droney, slowed by illness, scored just 11 points.
