Highlights: Freshman Stevie Mitchell came off the bench to score a game- and season-high 19 points to help No. 7 Wilson dig out of an early 11-point deficit to beat No. 10 Carlisle 70-49 tonight in a District 3 Class 6A first-round game at West Lawn.

The Bulldogs (15-9) trailed 19-8 late in the first quarter before Mitchell knocked down a 3-pointer.

That began a 22-3 run that gave Wilson a 30-22 lead at the half.

It extended the lead to 11 points in the third quarter and to 23 in the fourth.

Wilson advances to meet No. 2 seed Hempfield Friday at Landisville.

The Thundering Herd (12-11) were eliminated.

Bryce Calloway had 11 points and four assists for the Bulldogs and sophomore Evin Timochenko had a season-high 10.

Ki Barnes had 16 points to lead Carlisle.
