Highlights: Jake Stoudt opened overtime with a 3-pointer, sparking Muhlenberg to a 71-62 victory over Milton Hershey in the District 3 Class 5A championship game Friday at Giant Center.

The championship is the first for the Muhls.

The Muhls trailed by four points in the fourth quarter but ended regulation by knocking down three straight 3-pointers to send it to OT.

Once there the eighth-seeded Muhls (21-6) dominated, outscoring the third-seeded Spartans (21-4) 14-5.

Freshman Ruben Rodriguez made a key three-point play for a 63-59 lead and Anthony Espinoza and Tyler Kipp closed it out with four straight free throws in the final 18.3 seconds to clinch it.

Stoudt finished with 18 points on six 3s, and Rodriguez and Espinoza each had 15.

Milton Hershey's Josh Parra had 21 points and 19 rebounds before fouling out in OT.
