Highlights: At Forino Sports Complex, Berks Catholic stuffed Wyomissing's bid for the game-winning two-point conversion with 56 seconds left to hold onto its 14-13 lead, claim the Berks Football League Section 2 title and complete the school's first unbeaten season.

The Spartans (4-2, 5-5) drove 40 yards in the final two minutes to pull within 14-13 on Jack Baker's 1-yard plunge. Eschewing the chance to tie the game with a PAT, Spartans coach Bob Wolfrum kept his offense on the field but the Saints (6-0, 10-0) turned back Peter Geyer inches from the goal line.

The Saints took a 14-7 lead less then three minutes into the second half when quarterback Patrick Causa scrambled out of the pocket for a 69-yard gain to the 3, and Chris Warren finished the drive with a 1-yard run.

Other than Causa's big run the Saints got little other offense, and were out-gained 247-214 in a defensive struggle that saw the teams combined for 10 punts and four turnovers.

Berks Catholic took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Pop Lacey's 13-yard run but the Spartans tied it broke Tom Paolini broke free for a 73-yard TD run three plays later.
