Highlights: At Reiffton, Tom Paolini broke off a pair of long first-half scoring plays and the Spartans bend-but-don't-break defense withstood the Hurricanes' relentless ground game to open with a non-league victory.

Schuylkill Haven ran twice as many plays and more than doubled the Spartans' rushing total but couldn't finish off drives, nor stop Wyomissing's passing game.

Scott Kuczala, in his first start, threw TD passes on each of his first two completions to highlight the big-play offense.

Paolini scored two TDs, a pair of two-point conversions and had 201 yards from scrimmage.
