Highlights: Wilson Fontanez rushed for 253 yards and five touchdowns as Gov. Mifflin defeated Lancaster Catholic 44-19 in non-league football at Shillington Friday night.

Fontanez, a 5-10, 185-pound fullback matched the school record for TDs in a game. His biggest run was a 96-yard burst through the middle during the second quarter.

Mifflin overcame an early 7-0 deficit by scoring 44 unanswered points. Fontanez had scoring runs of 3, 3, 7 and 2 yards in addition to his longest run.

Quarterback Jan Johnson rushed for 87 yards and completed 5-of-6 passes for 97 yards for Mifflin (1-1), which bounced back from its overtime loss to Wilson last week.
