Highlights: Reading High clinched its first playoff berth since 2003 with a 30-14 win at Muhlenberg Friday night.

“This is tremendous for this program,” Red Knights coach Rob Flowers said. “For the city, community, school district, and the young men and their families. It’s huge.”

It wasn’t the prettiest game, but Reading (3-3, 6-4) got the job done.

Quarterback Elisiah Bayne had two touchdowns, including a 28-yard run with 2:11 left in the game that sealed the deal.

Khary Mauras also scored for the Red Knights on a run, and Kirk Boston returned a kickoff for another score.

The Muhls (1-5, 2-8) had their chances, but threats were snuffed by Reading’s defense. Bo Yeager and Anthony Jenkins both scored TDs.
