Highlights: Isaac Lutz scored five touchdowns, three in the air and two on the ground, as Berks Catholic overcame a sluggish first half and beat Biglerville, 39-3, in a District 3-AA quarterfinal Friday night at Forino Sports Complex.

The Saints (11-0), who led 19-3 at halftime, made sure things didn’t get out of hand in the third quarter. They only needed four plays to go up 26-3 on a 6-yard run by Lutz.

On BC’s next possession, Lutz caught a 24-yard pass from Patrick Causa to make it 33-3.

Lutz then activated the mercy rule 1:01 in to the fourth quarter on a 64-yard run.

Overall, the 5-11 junior caught five passes for 126 yards and rushed four times for 82 yards.

BC will play Newport, a 33-14 winner of Annville-Cleona, in next week’s semifinal round.

Biglerville finishes 5-6.
