Highlights:
Emergency quarterback Gabe Schappell ran for four more touchdowns and 261 yards as Exeter defeated Muhlenberg 42-21 at Laureldale to remain unbeaten and in first place in Section 1 of the Berks Football League.
Schappell, who moved from tight end last week to replace injured starter Brandon Unterkoefler, scored on runs of 6, 9, 14 and 8 yards.
Two of the TDs came in the final quarter after the Muhls (2-1, 3-4) had rallied to pull within 21-21.
The Eagles (3-0, 7-0) answered with a 63-yard scoring drive, with Schappell running for 34 yards to the 14, then taking it the rest of the way on the next play.
Schappell's 36-yard run to the 5 set up Nick Sarangoulis' TD run which pushed the Eagles to a 35-21 lead with 5 1/2 minutes left.
Schappell also completed 7-of-13 passes and threw a 13-yard TD to LeRoy Longenecker.
Muhls quarterback Cody Fidler threw a pair of scoring passes, including a 37-yard fade to Joaby McMinn that helped them tie it at 21 with 1:23 left in the third quarter.
