Highlights: At Laureldale, the Muhls (1-1, 2-3) held off a rally from the Scouts (1-1, 2-3) with the help of two late interceptions as they pulled out a Berks Football League Section 1 win and snapped a three-game losing streak. Brandon Gassert was the workhorse for Muhlenberg, carrying it 30 times for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Tyler Small racked up 149 yards on just 10 carries. Small raced for 92-yard and 25-yard TDs in the first half, then Gassert led the way on an 11-play scoring drive to open the second half that made it 20-0 Muhls. Weiser came back on the next drive with a quick five-play scoring drive capped by a 14-yard Alex MacKenzie TD pass to Josh Taatjes, then No. 2 QB Connor McFadden drove the Scouts 40 yards after a botched Muhlenberg punt to make it 20-14 with 10:57 to play. The Muhls forced a turnover on downs on Weiser's next drive, then picked off McFadden on the Scouts' final two drives to hold on for the win.
