Highlights: Gov. Mifflin scored six times in the first quarter to quickly put away Reading High 44-0 in a Berks Football League Section 1 game today at Mifflin Stadium.

The Mustangs (4-0, 7-1) are two wins away from their second straight section title and seventh in eight seasons.

Isaac Ruoss rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter as the Mustangs bolted ahead 37-0.

Tyshaun Weaver's 36-yard interception return for a TD made it 44-0 less than 90 seconds into the second quarter.

The Red Knights (2-2, 2-6) turned it over six times, fumbled eight times and gave away a pair of early scores on punt snaps that sailed into the end zone. The first went for a safety, the second was covered by Qua-Mei Williams for a TD.

Reading quarterback Tomas Perez was sacked twice in the first quarter before leaving with a sprained ankle.

The Mustangs recorded three sacks, nine tackles for losses and held the Red Knights to minus rushing yards in posting their first shutout.
