Highlights:
SHILLINGTON, Pa. – Behind 169 rushing yards and five touchdowns from Nick Singleton, the Governor Mifflin Mustangs handled the Muhlenberg Muhls 48-0 on a cool night at Mustang Stadium.
The Mustangs defense made the first big play of the game on Muhlenberg’s first play from scrimmage as Samuel Thompson intercepted a deep pass from Muhls quarterback Shawn Shuker at midfield. Singleton bounced it to the left side and scored his first touchdown untouched on a 57-yard run. Governor Mifflin would then use a 12-play 63 yard drive to extend their lead out to 14-0 on a 13-yard scamper from Singleton.
Singleton would notch his third touchdown of the first half at the 5:57-mark of the second quarter on a two-yard run before following on the ensuing drive with a 55-yard touchdown run to make it a 28-0 Mustang advantage. A short punt then set up Governor Mifflin for another touchdown before halftime as Mustang senior quarterback Kolbie Reeser found a wide open Jaiden Quiles over the middle for a 36-yard touchdown pass.
The Mustangs held a staggering 430-90 advantage in total yards with 346 coming on the ground. Governor Mifflin also held the Muhls to 2-of-10 on third down and just eight total first downs.
