Highlights:
From Shillington, Governor Mifflin used their most balanced offensive attack of the season to defeat Lower Dauphin 49 to 13.
Senior quarterback Kolbie Reeser entered the game with only one passing touchdown on the season. But with the Falcons (0-4, 0-8) focused on slowing the Mustangs’ (4-0, 5-3) run game, Reeser displayed terrific accuracy in completing 10 of 15 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns.
After a touchdown on the game’s opening possession gave Lower Dauphin a 7-0 lead, Mifflin responded with scores on four straight drives. Reeser was directly involved in three of those touchdowns, connecting with CamRon Stewart and Jaiden Quiles for passing scores while also reaching the end zone on a one-yard run.
Sophomore running back Nick Singleton added three touchdowns on the night, giving him a Berks League leading 25 touchdowns through eight games. He scored on runs of 44 and 8 yards, but his most impressive play of the evening was a 52-yard punt return that saw him go from sideline to sideline before racing to the endzone.
Mifflin will host Exeter next week with first place on the line in the Berks Football League. The game is also critical to both team’s District 3 playoff hopes.
