Highlights:
Coach Sean Gaul has said that Fleetwood is a second half team. His Tigers proved it again.
They shook off a dominant Hamburg first-half performance to score a comeback win 24-8 at home.
Hamburg led 8-0 at halftime and didn’t allow a Fleetwood first down until the last minute of the first half. The Tigers came out in the second half and looked like an entirely different team. They were able to get in rhythm with some up-tempo offense and they finally got their running game going. They scored late in the third quarter on a 41-yard touchdown run by Charlie Maddocks to cut the deficit to 8-6.
Aidan Kotsch sparked the Tigers on the drive that gave Fleetwood the lead. He had four carries for 53 yards on his only rushes of the game. The drive went 12 plays and featured a 30-yard Maddocks brother hookup from Charlie to Tanner. Charlie added the go-ahead score with a 1-yard touchdown run with some help from Alan Snyder in the fullback role pushing him into the end zone.
Shaheed Warren led all rushers with 124 yards on 24 carries with a touchdown.
