Highlights: Max Hurleman and Evan Niedrowski each scored three touchdowns as Wyomissing tuned up for next week's "Backyard Brawl" with a 56-14 Berks Football League Section 2 victory over visiting Schuylkill Valley.

The Spartans (4-0, 9-0) play at Berks Catholic Friday for the Section 2 title.

The Spartans, ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 3A, wasted little time with the Panthers (1-3, 3-6), scoring three touchdowns in the first four minutes. They led 35-0 less than two minutes into the second quarter.

Hurleman took a punt back 47 yards for a score, ran for a 35-yard TD and caught a 7-yard pass from Jordan Auman to help the Spartans to a 42-7 halftime lead.

Niedrowski returned an interception 20 yards for a TD and scored on runs of 10 and 12 yards.

Schuylkill Valley's Nicco Iaccarino set a program record with 44 pass attempts, but the Spartans' top-ranked defense unit was unfazed. They picked off four passes, two each by Niedrowski and Jevin Tranquillo.

Iaccarino, who leads Berks in passing yards, passed for just 144 yards, completing 17 passes. He attempted 36 passes in the first half.
