Highlights: The Exeter defense came into Friday night’s District 3 opening round game leading Berks County in punts forced. They forced only three punts, but more importantly they forced a season-high five turnovers to roll over York 42-7.

The Exeter offense didn’t disappoint either. They racked up over 400 yards and provided the big play with four plays of 40 yards or more.

Jeremiah Nixon set the tone with a 40-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter. He broke at least two tackles before breaking into the clear. He also scored early in the second quarter on a 7-yard touchdown run.

York High got back into the game with a 36-yard interception return for touchdown by Marcellus John with 3:28 left in the half. The big play Exeter offense struck again with Gavin McCusker (6-for-17 passing for 188 yards, 2 TD) hitting Devon Scott for a 52-yard touchdown with 1:00 left in the half.
