Highlights: Gov. Mifflin was too powerful, too fast, too good in beatin Exeter 56-14 in a Berks Football League Section 1 game at Mifflin Stadium.

Fullback Brandon Strausser set the tone for the night on the Mustangs' first possession, ending it with a 29-yard TD run.

Next time he touched it, Strausser went 45 yards up the middle to the 32, setting up a short Nick Singleton TD run.

On and on it went, with Strausser and Singleton tearing off huge hunks of yardage on the ground, giving the Mustangs (1-0, 3-0) a 42-7 lead at the half and a running clock to start the third quarter.

"Our team has so many skill players, its unbelievable," said Strausser, who didn't get a carry in the second half. "There’s no way you can stop me, Nick, everybody."

The Eagles no doubt were keying on Singleton and it showed in the early series as Strausser found huge running lanes up the middle, ripping off gains of 29, 45 and 80 yards.

"They’re keying on Nick on the outside," said Lang. "The linebackers are flowing to the outside, and it just opens up the middle. If (Brandon) cracks through that line, he’s gone; he’s got the speed to get there."

Even with everyone focusing on him Singleton he still had a huge night, with 248 yards and two TDs on 13 carries. He went 91 yards on his final touch of the night, giving Mifflin a 56-7 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Strausser made a point to give a big shoutout to his offensive line of tackles Dominic Sheidy and Adam Hoffman, guards Devonte Phillip and Matt Griffith, centers Dylan Kohl and Jacob Lopez, and tight ends Cam'Ron Stewart and Nate Goodman.

"Our line doesn’t get enough credit," he said. "Our guys push. We fight hard every play."

Strausser got his third TD from the defensive side when he scooped up a fumble and raced 85 yards. Stewart hit quarterback Gavin McCusker and forced a fumble, one of three turnovers.
