Highlights:
Brady Gibble had a pair of touchdown catches, including a fourth-down grab in the final minutes, to lift Wilson past Hempfield 26-16 in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 game tonight at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The victory, coupled with Manheim Township's win over Warwick, gives the Bulldogs (3-0, 5-2) sole possession of first place in Section 1.
Wilson led 19-3 after Nate Hoekstra's 54-yard interception return for a touchdown with 8:47 left in the third quarter.
The Black Knights (1-2, 3-4) stormed back, scoring a pair of TDs to pull within 19-16 late in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs put the game away with an 11-play drive that ended on Anthony Futrick's 9-yard TD pass to Gibble on a fade in the corner of the end zone with 6:45 remaining.
The Bulldogs defense allowed just four first downs and 82 yards in the first half. Hempfield's only score came on a field goal, after a high snap from center on a punt gave the Black Knights possession at the Wilson 14 with 11 seconds left.
Wilson went up 6-0 on a pair of Jack Wagner field goals.
A 55-yard bomb from Futrick to Gibble gave the Bulldogs a 13-0 lead three minutes into the second quarter.
