Highlights: Bishop McDevitt used an eight-minute scoring drive in the fourth quarter to hold off Berks Catholic 41-31 in the District 3 Class 4A championship at Manheim Township.

The second-seeded Saints (10-3) got back in the game with a pair of touchdowns in a two-minute span early in the fourth quarter to pull within 34-31 before the top-seeded Crusaders (12-1) put the game away with an 18-play, 69-yard drive, capped by a 5-yard TD catch by Nazir Burnett.

McDevitt set the tone with a punishing ground game, led by CJ Reyes-Diggs, who ran for three touchdowns and 157 yards. The Crusaders ran 47 times for 299 yards.

McDevitt extended its 20-10 halftime lead to 27-10 on Reyes-Diggs' 14-yard TD run early in the third quarter.

The Saints trailed 34-17 before getting a 58-yard touchdown reception from Abdul MacFoy and a 15-yard catch from Luis Garcia in the span of four plays early in the fourth quarter.

The Crusaders converted two fourth downs on their clinching drive, the first on a fake punt, the second on Burnett's TD catch.

Berks Catholic defeated McDevitt 45-24 last year for their third straight district championship.
